The Problem

Group dining decisions are time-consuming and frustrating, often resulting in endless back-and-forth conversations.

Research showed that:

  • People spend 132 hours per year deciding where to eat

  • Group decisions can take 25 minutes or more

  • Preferences like budget, dietary needs, and location are often overlooked

This leads to decision fatigue, exclusion, and stalled outcomes.

These insights reinforced the idea that the solution should be a feature, not a standalone product.

Early Concepts & Prototypes

Early concepts explored:

  • Manual voting vs. automated decision logic

  • How to visualize group compatibility

  • Reducing cognitive load with minimal inputs

Wireframes focused on guiding users quickly from preference input to a final decision.
